The Word on The Street: Google!

Users of Google Maps will be all too familiar with being able to plan a journey, find the nearest florist, or just spy on next door with the satellite function.

For several years, users in the United States have been able to take a "virtual walk" up and down the road with the google street view function (click here for an example). With the spotting of a google 360 degree camera car in Norwich, it looks like an armchair stroll down Prince of Wales isn't too far away!

The United Kingdom is slightly behind the rest of the world when it comes to Street View enabled maps. At the time of this article being written, there are none of these maps present in the UK, despite numerous appearances of the google camera cars being spotted in major towns and cities throughout the country.

A list of up to date Street View locations can be viewed here.
